In the community of San Pablo Coapan, Naolinco, Veracruz, Finca El Izote rises as a testament to family legacy and a deep respect for the land. Our story began with my grandfather, whose dedication to coffee farming planted the seeds of a tradition that spans over four generations. While coffee has always been a part of our lives, it wasn’t until 2022 that we stepped into the world of specialty coffee—a moment that changed everything for us.

That same year, we participated for the first time in the Cup of Excellence Mexico, achieving 2nd place with a washed coffee scoring 91.14 points. Since then, we’ve been working tirelessly to refine our processes and deepen our understanding of quality, earning top placements again in 2023 and 2024.

Our 4-hectare farm sits at 1,470 meters above sea level, where the microclimate and soil contribute to the vibrant character of our coffees. We grow Marsellesa , Bourbon, and Geisha, carefully managing each stage of cultivation and post-harvest with hands-on attention and care.

Our Process Highlights:

Selective handpicking of only deep red, fully mature cherries

Flotation to remove any defects before fermentation

Aerobic fermentation in clean tanks for 8 hours

Spring water washing and sun drying on raised beds (zarandas)

Storage in a cool, clean space to preserve quality

We are deeply committed to sustainability, using no synthetic chemicals. Instead, we regenerate our soils with homemade organic fertilizers, allowing us to nourish our land naturally and protect its long-term vitality.

We believe great coffee starts with care—from the soil to the cup.
