My name is Kedvin Francely Moreno Alvarado, proud coffee producer and owner of Finca Buena Vista, located in El Cedral, Las Vegas, Santa Bárbara, Honduras.
For me, the farm means something very valuable and special, not only for the work we do there, but for what it represents to my family. It is our legacy, our heritage. It was founded by my grandfather, Daniel Moreno (Q.D.D.G), a man who left an indelible mark on our lives. Today, my father, my uncles, my brothers, and I continue to work this land with love, respect, and a commitment to producing quality coffee, just as he taught us.
My first steps in the world of coffee were as a child, watching my grandfather happily among his coffee plantations, lovingly tending each plant. He deeply inspired me. Later, it was my father, Miguel Moreno Leiva, who wisely guided me. He has been an example, not only for me, but also for many friends and members of the Moreno family who are also dedicated to this beautiful craft today.
One of the greatest challenges I have faced as a producer has been combating the diseases that affect our plantations, such as rust. These situations require constant work, dedication, and close vigilance to protect the health of the plants and ensure the quality of our harvests. It hasn't been easy, but we fight every day to maintain the standards that characterize us.
Participating in the 2025 Cup of Excellence has been a unique experience. I am filled with joy and pride that my coffee has been recognized nationally and internationally. This year, Finca Buena Vista earned 6th place in the Geisha category of the Exotica group, and this represents a great opportunity for our coffee to be known and valued in many parts of the world. I am grateful to God, my family, and everyone who has believed in our work.
