Evin Joel Moreno Reyes (Finca Las Acacias y El Mango)
"With every bean, a hope is planted, a dream is sown". Evin Joel
Moreno Reyes took his very first steps in coffee farming driven by
a profound hope to build a brighter future for his family. In those
early, challenging years, his wife made the ultimate sacrifice,
working abroad to fund their shared life project and lovingly
develop the farms they now cultivate side-by-side.
Starting with a single plot, Evin's crops flourished, inspiring
him to take a leap of faith into the Cup of Excellence. In 2013, he
achieved 12th place, a deeply emotional milestone that allowed his
wife to finally return home to Honduras so they could work the land
together. Blessed by God, they expanded their farm to 8 manzanas,
introducing exquisite varieties like Geisha and SL 28. His wife's
brilliance has also shone brightly in the competition, winning 3rd
place in 2019 and 2nd place in 2024—a beautiful testament to
their shared devotion to absolute quality.
Evin credits the Cup of Excellence with transforming their lives,
enabling them to invest in critical infrastructure like dryers and
a wet mill, which in turn brought greater well-being to their
beloved employees, who are a vital part of this beautiful story.
This year, their magnificent lots—Mango, Acacia, and
Limo—qualified for the competition. Despite the fierce storms
that sometimes batter their region, Evin and his family hold firmly
onto their faith, working tirelessly with the ultimate dream of one
day standing in first place and giving thanks for the opportunities
that allow them to produce absolute excellence.
