Patricio Navarro Pérez (Finca El Manantial)
Don Patricio Navarro, the proud owner of Finca El Manantial in
Lempira, discovered his profound connection to coffee at the tender
age of eight while helping his father with agricultural duties.
Inspired by this cherished family legacy, he planted his very first
manzana (acreage) of coffee. Today, armed with over 25 years of
experience, he has triumphantly expanded his lush farm to ten
cultivated manzanas.
Throughout his journey, Don Patricio faced bitter challenges in
commercializing his coffee, often feeling that small producers
received far too little reward for their arduous labor. This
struggle ignited a fire within him to seek new opportunities that
would grant him independence and true recognition for the
exceptional quality of his work. Thanks to a special invitation, he
participated in the Cup of Excellence for the very first time. He
warmly recalls sharing a quiet hope with his wife to simply place
in the top ten; he never imagined capturing second place, a
glorious recognition that beautifully shattered all his
expectations.
This experience filled him with boundless joy, deep pride, and a
renewed motivation to refine every single aspect of his production.
The excellence of his coffee is the direct result of constant,
disciplined devotion. He meticulously oversees every
detail—from planting and maintenance to the final careful
processing of the bean. Looking ahead, Don Patricio dreams of
expanding his farm, mastering his craft, and returning to the Cup
of Excellence next year to claim first place, proving to the world
that hard work, perseverance, and passion always bear sweet
fruit.
