Edras Nehemías Guevara Muñoz (Finca La
Cascada)
Edras Nehemías Guevara Muñoz is a 44-year-old coffee
producer who has dedicated two decades to the trade, carrying
forward a beautiful, lifelong legacy inherited from his parents.
Since 2006, he has charted his own path as an independent producer
alongside his beloved family, nurturing a rich diversity of
varieties including Yellow Catuaí, Caturra, Bourbon,
Anacafé 14, and Typica. He firmly believes that the perfect
harmony of variety, altitude, and climate is the true secret behind
his coffee's quality.
His greatest daily motivation is the relentless pursuit of
perfection in his cup. With deep emotion, he recalls crossing paths
with Exportadora San Vicente about five years ago, where he met
engineer Arturo, a man he describes as having a tremendous heart.
Recognizing the exceptional quality of Edras's coffee, Arturo
became the catalyst who encouraged him to step onto the grand stage
of the Cup of Excellence.
Driven by this encouragement and his own unwavering effort, Edras
feels profoundly happy and honored to have won first place in the
Honduras Tradicional category, proudly elevating the name of his
department. Though his journey has been fraught with
challenges—such as the poor roads isolating his
community—his unyielding perseverance, deep faith, and the
unconditional support of his family have empowered him to conquer
every adversity. Filled with immense gratitude for his family and
community, Edras hopes his story will serve as a beacon of
inspiration for neighboring producers, proving that with
dedication, hard work, and commitment, dreams truly can be
achieved.
