Nestled within high, fertile mountains bathed by gentle rain and
pure air, and embraced by mist, lies Finca La Laguna in Jinotega.
From a very young age, I have lived among coffee plantations,
learning that coffee is cultivated not only with one's hands, but
also with the heart. My name is José Edilberto Úbeda
Zeledón, and my entire life has been tied to this land that
taught me the value of hard work, patience, and respect for nature.
Every dawn on the farm represents a new opportunity to care for a
coffee that carries history, family tradition, and the pride of
producing in Nicaragua. What I offer is not just a cup of coffee,
but the result of years of experience, sacrifice, and love for
every bean that leaves our mountains.
Participating in the "Cup of Excellence" has been one of the most
significant experiences of my life as a producer. I was motivated
by the desire to prove that behind every lot lies authentic
dedication and a real commitment to quality. The preparation of
this coffee was a meticulous process, from the manual selection of
ripe beans to a slow and uniform drying that allowed every
attribute of the cup to be preserved. We do not seek to produce
large volumes; we seek to offer an honest, clean coffee full of
identity, capable of worthily representing the name of Nicaragua
before the world.
What makes my coffee unique is the story that accompanies it and
the care with which it is crafted at every stage. My family is an
essential part of this achievement, because together we have
learned that excellence is born from perseverance and respect for
the land. Every recognition received strengthens our hope and opens
new opportunities to keep growing. When someone tastes our coffee,
I want them to feel more than just flavor: I want them to discover
the daily effort, the passion of a coffee-growing family, and the
authentic essence of Nicaraguan coffee of excellence.
