Finca Peña Blanca

Adelina Escalante Flores

33

Named after the majestic, towering white stone cliff that frames its landscape, Finca Peña Blanca carries a rich 50-year heritage. Today, the farm is an active school of craftsmanship passed down through generations, fully operated by the family to foster the professional future of the children.

Peña Blanca’s journey in Cup of Excellence is a testament to perseverance and continuous improvement. After achieving an impressive 4th place in 2024, the family faced a heartbreaking setback in 2025 when they missed the National Stage. Instead of discouraging them, this experience fueled their drive. They systematically analyzed their cupping feedback, refined their agricultural protocols, and returned in 2026 with a bold, meticulously executed vision for the Experimental Category.

This exceptional micro-lot received elite-level care at every stage. The family managed the ecosystem with precise plant nutrition and manual weeding using traditional machetes. During the harvest, pickers performed a strict, multi-pass selective hand-pick to ensure only cherries at absolute peak ripeness were gathered.

To achieve its complex flavor profile, the lot underwent a rigorous multi-stage anaerobic fermentation and dehidration processes.
