Finca Los Naranjos represents a deep-rooted family legacy shaped
by resilience and a profound respect for nature. Founded by a
hardworking former muleteer who filled the land with orange trees,
the farm is now managed by the third generation of the family,
represented by Salma Jazmín Cortés Posadas. Despite
devastating challenges like the 2012 leaf rust crisis and modern
climate shifts, the family tirelessly renovated their high-mountain
farm, creating a thriving ecosystem where coffee grows under a
diverse canopy of fruit trees, sharing the habitat with abundant
local wildlife.
This exceptional lot features the Marsellesa variety, chosen for
its remarkable adaptability to the region's humid, temperate
climate and its outstanding cup potential. The family's commitment
to quality is evident in their rigorous processing methods and high
quality storage materials.
The coffee was successfully harvested just before intense rains
complicated the collection and drying of subsequent lots. For the
Cortés Posadas family, presenting this coffee at the Cup of
Excellence is the ultimate reward for their unwavering dedication,
the collaborative spirit of their farm, and the rich terroir of
Huitzilán de Serdán, Puebla.
