Richard Javier Fernández Dominguez (Finca don Andrés)

At just 21 years old, Richard Fernández represents the 4th generation of his family in Las Flores, Santa Bárbara. Surrounded by specialty coffee culture from birth, he recently stepped onto the grand stage of the Cup of Excellence for the first time. Representing Finca Etel, Richard presented a natural-process Parainema from his 1,500-meter-high farm, a place rich in birdlife and natural diversity.

For the Fernández family, traceability and innovative fermentation are the pillars of their work. Richard’s participation this year is his way of showcasing the dedication behind his harvest and securing fair prices that will allow him to continue growing as a young producer. He feels immensely proud and excited to be part of this community of excellence.
