The entire harvest is transported daily to the processing facility
located in the urban area, where fermentation takes place under
controlled conditions. Drying is slow, uniform, and conducted
entirely in the shade. Agronomic management differs from the
conventional model through a rigorous selection of varieties
adapted to the area’s soil and climate conditions, soil
conservation practices, and the elimination of harmful inputs.
Planning is long-term, with a 10- to 20-year vision focused on
producing specialty coffees from the source. Additionally, the
nutritional program is semi-organic and environmentally
responsible, adopted out of conviction and ethical
principles.
The recognition received has generated a multidimensional impact.
At the community level, it has encouraged neighboring producers to
focus their efforts on quality and direct marketing. Likewise,
international roasters’ interest in coffee from the winning
farm has strengthened commercial ties and contributed significantly
to the positioning of Nicaraguan coffee, generating a multiplier
effect that attracts new markets and elevates the prestige of
Nicaragua as an origin.
The family is at the heart of the operation, with siblings,
children, and nephews and nieces contributing across various areas
of the value chain. CONATRADEC stands out for its impartiality,
dedication, and deep national commitment, providing ongoing
guidance, advice, and support to producers since the first edition
of the Cup of Excellence.
Every plant and every bean at Finca Élite encapsulates a
story of family, resilience, vision, and commitment to a
life’s work. Its main distinguishing feature lies in
producing sustainably and protecting water resources—not out
of commercial necessity, but out of a sense of responsibility and
awareness.
The message to all producers, especially small-scale coffee
farmers, is clear: everyone has the capacity to achieve excellence
through genetic work, deep knowledge of the area, altitude, and
microclimate, generational succession, innovation, and the
continuous adoption of new varieties and processing methods. The
reality is unequivocal: with disciplined work, results are
achievable."
