El Porvenir

Sergio Noe Ortez Ortez

25

In the cool, misty mountains of Nueva Segovia, where coffee grows slowly under a challenging yet privileged climate our specialty coffee is born at Finca El Porvenir. I am Sergio Noé Ortez, a third-generation producer. Every bean we cultivate carries a story that began in the 1950s, when my grandfather planted the first coffee trees on this land. Decades later, we continue to tend to this farm with the same passion, but with a renewed vision: to produce extraordinary coffees that showcase Nicaragua’s true potential to the world.
Our coffee is not the result of chance; it is the product of years of learning, sacrifice, and an obsessive pursuit of quality. Amid the challenges we face, we chose to embrace innovation and resilience. This led to our commitment to Yellow Pacamara, an exceptional variety that found the perfect harmony in our microclimate to develop a complex, elegant, and deeply memorable cup. Each harvest is meticulously hand-picked, and every cherry undergoes rigorous washing, fermentation, and slow-drying processes on African beds, allowing the coffee to reach a unique sensory expression: intense notes, refined sweetness, and a structure that lingers in the memory.
Behind every lot is an entire family dedicated to the art of specialty coffee. Our work does not end with producing a high-quality bean; we seek to create an experience capable of connecting the consumer with the origin, the land, and the people who make this excellence possible. Being recognized for three consecutive years in the "Cup of Excellence" confirms that we are on the right path, but our greatest pride remains offering an authentic, exclusive coffee produced with absolute dedication. When someone tastes our coffee, they do not just discover an exceptional cup; they discover the living history of a Nicaraguan family that transformed their passion into excellence.
