Franklin Adonis Madrid Villanueva (Finca Patepluma)
Franklin Madrid represents the proud third generation of a family
whose very lifeblood is coffee farming. Since his earliest days, he
walked the fields by the side of his father, Esteban Madrid,
learning a trade that would eventually become his life's
masterpiece.
His extraordinary dedication is evidenced by an awe-inspiring
achievement: Franklin has participated in all 24 editions of the
Cup of Excellence. His flawless quality earned him first place in
his category in 2008, a life-changing recognition that unlocked
doors to international buyers. For Franklin, the competition is a
constant wellspring of motivation; his greatest reward is tasting
his own hard work and improvements in the cup during the judging
processes.
Cultivating exquisite Gesha, Pacas, Pacamara, Bourbon, and
Parainema varieties, Franklin has recently poured his soul into
mastering post-harvest fermentation to extract the absolute best
flavors for his clients. He believes his farm's unique magic stems
from the perfect harmony of altitude, climate, and soil, combined
with his obsessive care from the moment the cherry is picked.
Looking to the horizon, his bold dream is to build an advanced
coffee testing and cupping lab on his farm, fostering a sustainable
paradise that balances environmental wellness, perfect quality, and
community development.
