Finca Las Macadamias, with a rich history dating back to El Injerto's founding in the 1890s, was once an integral part of our legacy. Although it later separated for various reasons, it has always been cultivated with the same passion, dedication, and rigorous quality control that characterizes El Injerto.
Today, Las Macadamias flourishes as our experimental farm, a true innovation laboratory. Located just south of El Injerto, in La Libertad, Huehuetenango, this 12.4-hectare gem extends between 5000 and 5800 feet in altitude. Here, we explore and evaluate various cutting-edge agricultural practices: from innovative pruning types and fertilizers to advanced weed control methods and the experimentation with new coffee varieties. Every success at Las Macadamias becomes a practice we implement on a larger scale at El Injerto.
Currently, most of the plantation houses a natural blend of the esteemed Catuai and Bourbon varieties, with a small section at the highest part dedicated exclusively to pure Bourbon. It is at Las Macadamias where we cultivate the future of specialty coffee.
