Lot 18: La Isla Luis Roberto Jimenez Padilla
La Isla is a family-owned coffee farm located in Lourdes de
Naranjo, Costa Rica, at 1,560 meters above sea level. It was
acquired in 2017 by the Jiménez Peñón family
with the vision of producing high-quality coffee in harmony with
nature.
Their passion for coffee goes back generations, when the
family’s grandparents and great-grandparents purchased their
first farms in the Naranjo region. That legacy has evolved with
love, learning, and commitment.
Luis, an agronomist and business administrator, and his wife
Giorgiana, a designer, lead the project. Their combined backgrounds
have given La Isla a unique identity—fresh, elegant, and
focused on excellence. Although their daughters, Elena and Milena,
are still young, they enjoy spending time on the farm and being
part of its story.
La Isla has continuously invested in the research of coffee
varieties and processing methods to develop unique micro-lots with
consistent quality. In partnership with local organizations, the
family also plants hundreds of native trees every year as part of
their commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable
production.
This will be La Isla’s fourth time participating in the Cup
of Excellence international auction—an achievement that
reflects the quality, dedication, and consistency behind their
work.
