Hacienda del café is a Project that began in 2015 when the Farm was acquired by the Perez family, it was acquired because the family wanted to have a land with coffee that was near Huehuetenango city, the farm is 35 minutes away from Huehuetenango. It is located in La Florecita, La Estancia; Huehuetenango, Huehuetenango. This region has not coffee production; that’s why at the beginning the farm was called an experimental farm. The coffee beans has not been easy to produce because of the soil and the weather, but with work the farm has had good results. The extension of the farm is 32 hectars and it has a rain catchment reservoir for drip irrigation.
After established the coffee plantation, Carlos Castellanos y Rene Pérez thought of the opportunity to mix coffee and tourism. And this is how HACIENDA DEL CAFÉ was born; a place that offers one of the best coffees of Guatemala, a tour of the farm, regional food, coffee plantations and lodging (or as we call it a posada evolution)
