Fazenda Samambaia is located in the municipality of Santo Antônio do Amparo, Minas Gerais, and is owned by Mr. Henrique Dias Cambraia. Its main activity is coffee cultivation. The farm is deeply intertwined with the Cambraia family’s history in Santo Antônio do Amparo, in the South of Minas region. It has been passed down through generations since 1896, when the family began its journey in coffee growing.
In the late 1980s, Dr. José Nominato Santos Cambraia began dedicating more time to the farm, increasing its focus on management tools and strategic organization. In 1993, one of his three sons, Henrique Dias Cambraia, took over the farm’s administration. Now in its fourth generation, Fazenda Samambaia continues to produce high-quality coffees year after year.
In 2000, Henrique moved abroad, which led to a greater need for structured planning and organization of the farm’s activities. Upon his return in 2002, the direct export of specialty coffees to roasters became a key goal. This direction gained strong momentum after the farm’s lots won international competitions in 2000 and 2001, purchased by roasters from Norway and Japan, respectively.
In recognition of its commitment to excellence, the farm received certification from the Brazil Specialty Coffee Association (BSCA) in 2004 and UTZ Kapeh social responsibility certification in 2005.
